Sequel to the recertification of Unic Insurance by the National Insurance Commission, the company has commenced plans to foster rapid growth of its clients base in the life and health operations.
Already, the company’s extensive training program has commenced for all the staff in order to prepare them for the new task. “The training is also geared towards updating and sensitizing the staff on the thinking of the organization and adequately equipping them on the vision, operations, and other strategies to be adopted. Experienced professionals in the health and actuarial circle are facilitating the training.” Tunde Lawanson, corporate affairs manager, told the magazine.
Apart from the foregoing, a number of initiatives have been put in place to achieve these goals. At present, staff with adequate competence have been moved to man these specialized units, commenting on this development, Peju Osipitan, managing director, said “Unic Insurance’s new strategy is focused essentially on the customers.” She adds: “We want to add value to their lives, this is reflected in our new focus and operations, which has to do with life, health and wealth acquisition for all our existing and prospective clients”.
Being one of the 26 companies licensed to offer life service, Unic intends to harness the untapped potential of the group life and life businesses. New products development unit has commenced plans to develop new products tailored specifically at the various segments of the society.
The company has in the last four years grown its health insurance service appreciably through the provision of affordable high quality health care and this is done through a combination of consumer empowerment and health care management strategy.
Critical Rescue International, CRI, the wholly owned subsidiary of Unic Insurance has been the vehicle used to offer this health service, with CRI, The latest medical facilities have been provided and are in use at the company’s six med-clinics spread across the country. Also, as complementary service, fully-equipped ambulances are strategically positioned at different locations in major cities of Nigeria to render emergency first aid and evacuation service.
Further partnership with over 100 reputable third party clinics and hospitals across the country has also enhanced the CRI’s operations, CRI manages an emergency call Centre and non-emergency tele-machine advice service. The company also manages the Celtel Crisis Centre on behalf Celtel.
