‘The Eagle Online’ Will Continue to Fly – Oladipo Family

By Bisi Bamishe

The Oladipo Family wishes to express its profound appreciation to the many readers, colleagues, friends, advertisers, partners and well-wishers of The Eagle Online who have reached out to us following the sudden passing of our beloved father, husband, brother and friend, Oladotun Samson Oladipo.

His death on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 came as a devastating shock to us and everyone who knew him. We are still coming to terms with the enormity of our loss.

Dotun devoted a significant part of his life to journalism. In 2012, he founded The Eagle Online and spent the years that followed building it into a respected digital news publication with a loyal readership, strong name recognition and the confidence of a wide range of advertisers and partners.

He was deeply passionate about The Eagle Online and regarded it not merely as a business, but as a platform for responsible journalism and public service.

It is therefore important for us, at this difficult moment, to reassure the numerous readers, advertisers, partners and friends of The Eagle Online that the publication will continue.

In line with best practices, Dotun had foresight to have put in place some form of a business continuity plan. That plan has now been activated and is being refined to sustain the publication in line with his vision.

We recognise that many people have invested their trust in The Eagle Online over the years. We do not take that trust for granted. Our intention is to preserve the legacy Dotun worked so hard to build while ensuring that the publication continues to grow and serve its readers effectively.

We also wish to assure our advertisers and commercial partners that existing relationships and commitments remain important to us. We look forward to your continued confidence and support as we navigate this transition.

As our family continues to mourn this loss, we ask for your continued prayers, understanding and support.

We thank everyone who has stood with the Oladipo Family and The Eagle Online since Dotun’s passing.

Dotun may have left us, but the work to which he devoted so much of his life will continue.

The Eagle Online will continue to fly.
