: The President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Mrs. Ekeoma Ezeibe, has called on insurance brokers and other industry professionals to participate actively in the fifth edition of Insurance Meets Tech (IMT) 5.0, describing the platform as an important avenue for the industry to engage with emerging technologies, exchange knowledge, and explore practical solutions for a rapidly evolving insurance landscape.
The call was made during a courtesy visit by the Insurance Meets Tech team to the NCRIB, where the Council formally endorsed the fifth edition of the annual insurance and technology conference.
Scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2026, at the Balmoral Event Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, IMT 5.0 is themed “Building Insurance That Connects.” The event will bring together insurance professionals, technology leaders, regulators, innovators, investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to examine how technology, innovation, and collaboration can contribute to a more connected, responsive, and customer-focused insurance industry.
Speaking during the visit, the President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Mrs. Ekeoma Ezeibe, stated, “Technology is no longer a peripheral conversation for the insurance industry; it is central to how we create value, serve consumers and remain relevant in a rapidly changing environment. For insurance brokers, this is particularly important because we are professional advisers and a critical link between consumers and the wider insurance value chain. We must therefore be at the forefront of understanding and harnessing the technologies shaping our profession.”
“This is why I am particularly pleased that, for its fifth edition, Insurance Meets Tech is creating an opportunity for brokers to play a more pivotal role in this important conversation. I encourage insurance brokers and other professionals to actively participate in discussions around technology, innovation and the future of insurance,” she added.
The NCRIB’s endorsement reinforces the importance of collaboration between the insurance and technology communities, particularly as emerging technologies continue to influence how insurance products are designed, distributed and experienced.
Commenting on the endorsement, Odion Aleobua, Convener of Insurance Meets Tech and Founder/CEO, Creato Urban, said the Council’s support was particularly significant as the platform marks its fifth edition. “Reaching our fifth edition is an important milestone for Insurance Meets Tech, and having the NCRIB’s leadership endorsement is a validation of the impact this platform has made over the last five years.”
