The President of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Mrs Yetunde llori, has expressed her satisfaction at the success of the just concluded 2026 lnsurance Week.

Speaking at the Grand Finale and Award Ceremony held at Paradise Event Centre, Lagos at the weekend, she appreciated all participants, stakeholders, partners and industry members who believed in her vision of introducing lnsurance Week and ensured it was achieved.
Ilori who pioneer the one week event during her tenure as the lnstitute president said she introduced it to serve as a platform that unites all arms of the insurance industry.
She stated further that the long week event has been able to enhance public engagement, industry dialogue, heighten insurance awareness and education, among others.
“Now in its second edition, the Insurance Week has firmly established itself as the most significant collective effort by the Nigerian insurance industry to deepen public awareness, promote insurance adoption and celebrate industry excellence”, she said. .
Calling on her sucessor to continue from where she stopped, she stated that the well celebrated event, which has become annual, would surely become a significant platform to take insurance operations and acceptance to a higher level, in a move to deepen penetration above one per cent in the near future.
At the award ceremony, NEM Insurance staff Udoh Sunday emerged as year 3026/2027 CIIN Ambassador while Akunyili Samuel Chukwukadibia won the award for the Best Insurance Student at WAEC Examination. His Teacher, Mr. Awotoruvie Randy Kemi was also awarded.
In addition, the lnstitute recognized six secondary schools with the highest numbers of student enrollment in Insurance: Ijaiye Ojokoro Senior High School, Ojokoro; Ogun State; Badagry Senior Grammar School, Badagry, Lagos State; Saint Peter’s College, Olomore, Ogun State; Egba High School, Asero, Ogun State; Methodist Comprehensive College, Sagamu, Ogun State
Due to its dominant performance across multiple institutions, Ogun State was crowned the State with the Highest Number of Students’ Enrollment in Insurance (WAEC) this year.
Founder and CEO Almond Insurance Industry Award (part of Almond Productions Limited), Faith Ughwode was appreciated for her tremendous support to the institute with a plaque while Traffic Radio clinched Media award category.
In another category of award, Police Service Commission won the Best Minstries Department and Agency (MDA)
