President of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary Grammar School Old Girls Association (EAGSGSOGA), Mrs Rhoda Ayinde has commended the 82set for giving back to the school.
A food court was commissioned and handed over to the school at a colourful ceremony to commemorate 40years of graduationfrom the school.
At the event which took place last week in the school premises,Mrs Ayinde noted that the Set has left a legacy in the school by this donation, and would always be remembered for the good gesture.
According to her, as the 1982set has made the selling and buying of food convenient for both the vendors and the students of the school, value would also come back to them through open doors in all their endeavours.
“Whatever is given to make our students comfortable, we will get back through a secured future for the students”, she said.
Ayinde added, “experience has also proved that whatever you make happen for others, God makes happen for you”.
She appealed to the vendors and students to put the facility to good use by ensuring its cleanliness at all times. This you will achieve by taking ownership of the facility.
In her response, the Principal of Eva Adelaja Girls Senior Secondary School, Mrs Olayinka Soyoye applauded the Set for its philanthropic gesture in remembering their Alma Mater. “It is the first of its kind, a landmark. So proud of you”, she stated
Soyoye added, “This edifice has afforded the students the opportunity to buy food items in a conducive atmosphere”.
At the earlier commemoration service, the officiating minister Rev Sofekun noted that the foundation of the school was laid on the solid Rock because men and women of God laid the foundation.
Taking his sermon from the book of Nehemiah where the prophet asked for permission to go and re build the walls of Jerusalem, Sofekun said, that was what the 82set has done and for this, God would give each member of the set favour just as Nehemiah received favour.
President of the Set, Tayo Oguntoye expressed joy and satisfaction in the completion of the project to mark 40 years of graduating from the school.
