National Insurances Commission (NAICOM) and National Health Insurances Scheme (NHIS) have agreed to collaborate together on the implementation of professional indemnity Insurances for health workers.
Both parties made the agreement during the visit of the Executive Secretary of NHIS, Prof Nasir Sambo to the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Sunday Thomas recently.
Professional Indemnity Insurance provides necessary financial protection for professionals in a precarious situation due to alleged neglect, error or omission whenever and wherever committed or communicated in the conduct of the insured business in their professional capacity. The policy meets the cost of defending claims and any damages payable.
