Bracing up for the post-consolidation challenges in the insurance industry, brokers under its umbrella body, the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, NCRIB, have come to terms on the need to enhance its service delivery, while adding superior value to clients.
They have also agreed that the larger responsibility of giving a reasonable level of satisfaction to the insuring public lies in their hands because they represent the insured in the scheme of business. For the above objective to be realized, NCRIB insists that brokers must be professionally sound in their chosen career.
Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, president, NCRIB, said the new stature of the industry, having increased its capital base, poses a great challenge to the insurance broking professionals, particularly in rendering insurance services in the most professional manner.
As the professional arm of the industry, insurance brokers are expected to be efficient professional counselors of the insured and the watch dogs of the underwriting companies, Agbeja posits.
According to him, brokers must constantly strive to add value to their clients in order to remain the inevitable link in the insurance placement process, noting that, more than ever before, the insured have now become more demanding hence brokers need to square up to the new challenges.
