Ekeoma Ezeibe: Testament To Hard Work And Passion For Insurance Industry

23rd President of Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers

Mrs. Ekeoma Esther Ezeibe, a testament of passion for insurance industry. was born into the OBI Royal Family of the Ancient Kingdom of Emekuku, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

 

She attended Holy Rosary Secondary School, Umuahia, Abia State, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel College, Emekuku, Owerri, Imo State. After obtaining her West African School Certificate, she further earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree at the old Imo State University, now Abia State University and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, where she was called to the Nigerian Bar.

Ekeoma’s insurance career began with the Legal Department of the Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation (Nigeria Re) under the mentorship of Professor Joe Irukwu, SAN. She later became the Managing Director/CEO of Crystal Trust Insurance Brokers Limited, a position she still occupies today. She has served as a Governing Board member of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) and Chairman of the NII-A/CFTA Committee. She has also been involved in various committees and initiatives, including the Insurance Industry Consultative Council (IICC) and the African Insurance Brokers Association (AIBA).

 

Among numerous awards and recognition she has received for her outstanding contributions to the insurance industry are:

• Insurer of the Year by Rotary Club of Aba, Abia S

• Commitment to Teaching Award by the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping

• Female Trailblazers Award by the African Insurance Organisation (AIO)

• Peninscope Award of Honour by NCRIB

• AIO-PILA Top 50 Women in Insurance in Africa Award.

 

Her professional qualifications include Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and Fellow, Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (FCIB)

Ekeoma is married to Azubuike Ezeibe, a senior lawyer and insurance investor, and they have lovely children and grandchildren.

On October 24th, 2025, she was installed the 23rd President of NCRIB, thereby becoming the 3rd female president of the esteemed professional body founded in 1962.
