President Bola Tinubu has appointed Abubakar Dantsoho as new Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)
Dantsoho replaces Mohammed Bello-Koko.who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2021 as acting MD and his appointment was confirmed in February 2022.
This is contained in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, titled “President Tinubu appoints new Managing Director and Board Chairman for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).”
Also, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye has been appointed the Board Chairman of NPA.
Dr. Dantsoho holds a Doctorate in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, United Kingdom.
Before his appointment, he had served in various roles in NPA; as Assistant General Manager; Technical Assistant to the Managing Director; Port Manager, Onne Port; and Principal Manager, Tariff & Billing.
Senator Adeyeye, the Board Chairman, is a seasoned lawyer, journalist, and politician.
He once served as Minister of State for Works and former Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District.
