The Nigerian Insurance industry mourns Dr (Mrs) Anthonia Smart, late wife of Group Managing Director NEM Insurance Plc, Mr Tope Smart.
Mrs Smart who passed on Thursday last week was the CII-UK Ambassador, chief examiner of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, part-time Chairman of Ondo State Pension Commission.and founding President of Professional lnsurance Ladies Association (PILA). Her husband was also former Chairman of Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and Group Managing Director NEM Insurance Plc.
According to a statement from the Head Corporate Communication/ Market Development, of the industry regulatory body, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr AbdulRasaaq Salami, she would be greatly missed.

It stated, “The Governing Board, Management and Staff of the National Insurance Commission, NAICOM commiserate with Mr. Tope Smart, MD/CEO on the demise of his lovely wife.
“Mrs. Tonia Smart was not just the wife of a top Insurer, she contributed and positively impacted the insurance industry in her own right. She will be greatly missed.
“We pray the Almighty God forgive her shortcomings and grant her family nay the insurance sector the fortitude to bear her demise, Ameen.
