In an attempt to promote Nigerian products abroad, Timothy Ogunlana, the Nigerian ambassador to Gabon, has commenced plans to woo professionals to seek business opportunities in Gabon. Speaking at the reception ceremony he organized for insurance operators, who were in the country for the 34th African Insurance Organization Conference, held in the country last month. The ambassador commended the friendliness of the people of Gabon towards Nigerians and urged the operators to make the best use of their short stay in the country.
Ogunlana who expressed his desire to see Nigerians export goods into the country, said that he was yet to be informed of any bad act by Nigerians in Gabon, pointing out that a good number of them are doing genuine businesses. He said that some of them are the Ijaws and Ilajes who came to the country through the creeks during the Nigerian civil war and are now fishermen.
He disclosed further that since his arrival in Gabon he has been trying to get the Nigerian professionals together to see how they can repatriate the money they are making back home.
