The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has released activities for 2025 Insurance Week celebrations.
According to the President of CIIN, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, who made this known during a virtual meeting held in Lagos said, the week long activities of the Institute were designed to promote insurance awareness, stakeholder engagement and industry collaboration.
During the virtual meeting, the event’s Mascot, Niko, was unveiled.
The event packed with awareness, innovation, and transformation in the Nigeria’s insurance sector, will take place from June 28-July 4, 2025 in Lagos, and hold simultaneously in Ibadan; Abuja; Port Harcourt and Kano.
The event themed: “Insurance For All: Securing Nigeria’s Future,” will commence on Saturday, June 28, with an insurance awareness walk from NEM Insurance Plc Head office, at Obanikoro, along Ikorodu Road and terminate at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The formal opening ceremony slated for June 30, will take place at Nigerian insurers House located at Saka Tinubu Street in Victoria Island, Lagos. This will be followed by an insurance awareness campaign on July 1, at selected secondary schools and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises MSMEs). Insurance Outreach will hold on July 2, at Sabo Market; Oyingbo Market; Bariga Market; Shoprite and Spar.
While Hackathon competition is billed to take place at the College of Insurance and Financial Management (CIFM) at Asese, Ogun State on July 3, the grand finale is scheduled for July 4, at Paradise Event Centre, Alagomeji, Lagos.
Mrs. Ilori said the celebrations would hold at the same period in Ibadan; Abuja; Port Harcourt and Kano, adding that the insurance industry would leverage the event to reward Nigerians by giving awards to people who have been promoting insurance culture.
She disclosed that lnsurance Week which would be a yearly programme, is geared towards enhancing the visibility of the insurance industry, educating the public on the benefits of insurance, and fostering professional growth within the sector.
The President stated further that the week-long event will be the beginning of another positive turning point for the insurance industry in the country as all the lined-out activities have been planned to create an enduring and lasting memory in the minds of the insuring public, the practitioners of the business and the general public at large.
Chairman of the Insurance Week Organising Committee, Mr. Eddie Efekoha, commended Mrs. Ilori for initiating the programme.
He called on all stakeholders in the insurance industry to support the initiative which he said is aimed at growing insurance business and depending penetration.
