NSIA Insurance Limited, a leading insurance provider, marked International Men’s Day 2023 with a special outreach initiative titled “Heroes without Capes.” This unique program, organized for men and executed by men, aimed to express gratitude and care to male artisans, traffic wardens, and LAWMA workers, recognizing their invaluable contributions to society.
On the bright and early morning of November 23, NSIA Insurance staff gathered on Victoria Island to celebrate, honour, and give back to these everyday heroes without capes. The theme for this year’s celebration focused on appreciating the unsung male contributors to various fields.
The celebration at NSIA Insurance extended throughout the week, featuring a series of engaging activities for staff members.
The activities included:
1. Appreciation Corner: A designated space where female colleagues left heartfelt notes expressing their appreciation for the male staff, acknowledging their dedication and hard work.
2. Free Prostate Cancer Checks: As part of their commitment to health and well-being, NSIA Insurance provided free prostate cancer checks, emphasizing the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare for men.
3. Let’s Talk: A safe and supportive space created to encourage men to open up about their challenges, triumphs, and experiences. The initiative aimed to foster a sense of camaraderie among like-minded individuals, emphasizing the power of shared stories.
4. Odogwu Friday: A specialized man cave was set up as a space for men to unwind, relax, and enjoy camaraderie with their colleagues, recognizing the need for a designated area to promote a healthy work-life balance.
The celebration culminated in a highlight event—a friendly match between NSIA Insurance and Sanlam Insurance. The spirited match took place at the Government Senior College, Victoria Island, bringing together teams from both organizations for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
